Guidelines for Camera Purchase: Analysis of Photosensitive Chips and Master Chips

Guidelines for Camera Purchase: Analysis of Photosensitive Chips and Master Chips

  1. Photosensitive chips

SENSOR is an important component of digital camera, which is divided into different components.

Charge Coupled Device (Charge Coupled Device) is a high-end technology component used in photography and photography. It has mature application technology and good imaging effect, but its price is relatively expensive.

CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) is used in products with lower image quality. Compared with CCD, it has low price and low power consumption.

The advantages of CCD are high sensitivity, low noise and high signal-to-noise ratio. But the production process is complex, high cost and high power consumption.

CMOS has the advantages of high integration, low power consumption (less than 1/3 of CCD) and low cost. But the noise is bigger and the sensitivity is lower. Early CMOS has higher requirements for light sources. In products using CMOS as photosensitive components, advanced image control technologies such as automatic gain enhancement technology of image source, automatic brightness and white balance control technology, color saturation, contrast, edge enhancement and gamma correction can be used to approach CCD cameras. Effect.

Under the same pixel, the image of CCD is always transparent and sharp, and the color restoration and exposure can ensure the basic accuracy. CMOS products tend to have general permeability, weak color restoration ability and poor exposure.

High-end cameras basically use CCD photosensitive components, the mainstream products are basically CCD and CMOS equivalence autumn, generally speaking, the effect of CCD is better, the size of CCD components is more than 1/3 inch or 1/4 inch, under the same resolution, it is better to choose larger components. Users can choose according to their preferences.

First of all, don't use the CCD in the backlight environment (the same as this CCD), especially don't point directly to the sun, otherwise the tragedy of "burning ants in a magnifying glass" will happen on your camera. Secondly, the ambient light should not be too weak, otherwise it will directly affect the image quality. There are two ways to overcome this difficulty. One is to enhance the ambient brightness. The other is to select products with minimum illumination. Some cameras can reach 5lux.

Finally, we should pay attention to the reasonable use of zoom lens, do not underestimate this point, through the correct adjustment, the camera can also have the function of shooting chip. Among the digital cameras sold in the market, CCD and CMOS are basically equal in color. Restricted by market conditions and market development, few manufacturers use CCD image sensors for cameras. The main reason is the high cost of using CCD image sensors.

  II. MAIN CONTROL CHIP

The choice of DSP is based on the cost of camera and market acceptance. The design and production technology of DSP has gradually matured, and the differences in various technical indicators are not very large, but some of the DSP in the fine links and drivers need to be further improved.
